What is departmental SOP?

Last updated

Departmental SOP in hotel operations

Hotels organise their standards by department because each department owns different work: arrivals at the front desk, room resets in housekeeping, cold-chain checks in the kitchen, fault response in engineering, rounds in security. Each of these is a departmental SOP.

Why departmental SOPs drift apart

When each department keeps its SOPs in its own binder or shared folder, they drift in format, in version and in how they are checked. A group or general manager ends up with seven different ways of knowing whether standards were followed, and often none that produces evidence.

Running departmental SOPs in one system

Running every departmental SOP the same way, as timed tasks with photo gates and sign-off, keeps each department's content its own while giving the property one service record. See the hotel SOP app for every department.
